This is what Maria and I have for breakfast most of the time during the week.

We get a bit more creative on the weekends, naturally in a "Mindful" way.

 

Breakfast Smoothie (Two Servings)

 

  1. 1/2 cup nonfat yogurt (55 cal.)

  2. 2 cups nonfat milk (160 cal.)

  3. 2 Tbs. Natural Peanut Butter (We like Smucker's)(210 cal.)

  4. 4 Packets Splenda (0 cal)

  5. 4 Tbs. Flaxseed Meal (120 cal.)

  6. 1 cup frozen blueberries (60 cal.)

  7. 1 cup frozen strawberries (50 cal)

Blend in a blender (If you don't have a blender, or the one you have is entry level, get a strong one. They seem to be more available these days, probably because there's more emphasis on blended drinks like smoothies and fusion drinks.

This smoothie provides 327 calories per serving. Or you can get an Egg McMuffin for about 300 calories....your choice. The Smoothie gives you fruit, fiber, phytochemicals, antioxidants, healthy fat (which also gives the drink a more satisfying taste and more staying power); not to mention it tastes great.
