Thank you
for visiting MyHealthySpace.org, Avila
University's Mindfulness-based Wellness (MBW) program,
which is supported by a generous grant from the Menorah
Legacy Foundation of Kansas City. This is where
we will post some of the information, activities and techniques
that will promote your body/mind/spirit and
collective well-being, all grounded in mindfulness.
Mindfulness practices are those that actively cultivate
our awareness of, and response to our internal and external
environments. When we intentionally and compassionately
experience the here-and-now moments of everyday life,
we are acting mindfully. When we make choices about
where to place our attention and do so with curiosity,
we are acting mindfully. Finally, when we encounter
our thoughts, feelings and desires without casting
judgment, even positive judgment, we are being mindful.
We invite you to enhance your personal healthy space by joining us in our Mindfulness-based Wellness program. When you face the common mindfulness side-effects of empathy and loving-kindness, that healthy space will extend to your relationships and cherished community. At Avila University, we seek to contribute to the healthy space of the world as we search for a clear understanding of the moment before we choose to act or react unconsciously.
